Optimisation of an Integrated System: Combined Heat and Power Plant with CO2 Capture and Solar Thermal Energy

This paper aims to evaluate different design configurations of a combined heat and power (CHP) plant with post-combustion CO2 capture. Three cases are involved in this study: case 1 consists three trains each train has configuration one gas turbine recovery steam generator (HRSG); 2 turbine; 3 only two trains. The third presented the highest CHP efficiency 72.86% 511.8 MW net generation. After selecting optimum configuration, parabolic-trough collector (PTC) was incorporated generate additional saturated at 3.5 bar for capture plant, adding greater flexibility because more available. In addition, cycle increased from 80.18%. Although lower than 3, it which brings possibility increasing amount electricity instead production. When PTC 2, generated 23.22 52.6 MW, 65.4% 68.21%.
